Back in the day, when graphic designers from Taito used a 20-button joystick to draw dot by dot sprites. This custom joystick would connect to a X68000 (widely used as a workstation by many Japanese arcade companies) running graphics editors like Animator and Hapic. You would use the joystick and the buttons to draw the sprites
